Welcome to our May newsletter
Having entered the Thai lunar New Year we can look back on a memorable month of Songkran celebrations while looking forward to the new year ahead.
To welcome in the Thai New Year we were honoured to host Thailand’s Head of the Privy Council, Gen Prem Tinsulanonda, and to perform the Rod Nam Dam Hua ceremony, the Songkran tradition whereby water is poured on the hands of elders by way of giving respect.
Out on the streets revelers were being a bit more liberal with the water and we joined in the fun, setting up a tent in the forefront of the hotel and spreading the good will of Songkran by serving Thai snacks and encouraging people to come together.
We were also proud to have hosted the “Twelfth Bangkok Chess Club Open”, the largest international chess tournament to take place in Thailand, and to have demonstrated our growing commitment to global sustainability by marking “Earth Hour 2012” a memorable night of action and events.
Looking ahead we’re confident the month of May will have something for everyone. From the best international buffet prices at The Pavilion to superior French cuisine at our top floor D’Sens restaurant where Chef Christian Ham will be creating great cuisine using freshly imported white asparagus and truffles.
Golfing enthusiasts will take note of our “Birdies, Bunkers and Eagles Package” while history buffs will be fascinated on our short feature about the legendary Jim Thompson.
As always, please don’t hesitate in contacting myself or my colleagues if you have any queries or suggestions on how we can make your stay with us an experience you won’t forget.
