It was our honour to be selected to welcome Asian states-people and leading international politicians comprising the founding members of the Asian Peace and Reconciliation Council (APRC) recently, as well as host a hospitality education day for students and lecturers from Singapore Polytechnic school.
If you are planning to visit Phuket this month, one distinctive experience that you shouldn’t miss is the annual Phuket Vegetarian Festival, also known as ‘Tessekan Gin Jae’, on 15-23 October. This annual festival forms a strong part of Phuket’s heritage, especially among the local Chinese-Thai community. Not only Phuket residents but also many tourists come to be part of this event. Adherents believe that abstinence from meat during the festival period will help obtain health and peace of mind for the coming year. Guests are invited to witness the spectacular street procession and sacred rituals are also performed at various Chinese shrines along the way.
