Most people say that April is probably the hottest month of the year. Hence, it is the month when the Songkran Festival – also known as ‘the water festival’ – is held throughout the Kingdom. The event coincides with the Thai New Year and celebrations are intertwined with the presence of water to signify blessings and a fresh start.

Dusit Thani Pattaya joins Dusit International at the ITB Berlin 2012 Hotel's energy initiatives recognized at the Thailand Energy Awards 2012 Earth Hour 2012 observed at Dusit Thani Pattaya

Dusit International, one of Asia's leading hospitality groups, was led by its Managing Director and CEO, Mr Chanin Donavanik and was among the 10,644 trade visitors and exhibitors from 187 countries that attended the 46th ITB Berlin Convention held from 7-11 March 2012. The annual event reported a successful turnout with higher attendance compared to last year's and positive indications for continued growth in the travel and tourism industries. Among the wide range of topics covered at the event were business, politics, health, corporate social responsibility, current trends on travel technology, tourism sustainability, present global economic situation and its impact on travel and tourism as well as social and ecological issues.

This year's Thailand Energy Awards, organised by the Ministry of Energy in cooperation with the Department of Alternative Energy Development and Efficiency, was held on 30 March 2012 at the Government House Building in Bangkok. Dusit Thani Pattaya was one of the 91 recipients of the plaques of recognition awarded to business operators that have shown outstanding performance in the five categories namely: Alternative Energy, Energy Management and Conservation, Energy Champion, Energy Creation (Renewable or Green Energy) and Effective Support for Energy Conservation. A total of 309 business establishments participated and submitted their entries for the event and only 91 passed all the criteria.

The management and staff of Dusit Thani Pattaya led by General Manager Chatchawal Supachayanont are joined by hotel guests in observing Earth Hour 2012 held on Saturday, 31 March at the resort's Main Lobby. This year's campaign was titled "I Will If You Will" and the hotel was one of the millions of homes and business establishments across the globe that switched off non vital lights for one hour from 8:30-9:30 pm to support the world's largest action for environmental change. Being an eco-friendly hotel and enjoying the Silver Certificate status from EarthCheck, Dusit Thani Pattaya gives its all-out support to any activities and programmes related to the conservation and preservation of the environment.
