As the saying goes, ‘time flies when you are having fun’. New Year seems not too long ago yet we are about to enter the second half of 2012!

May was a great month for us, because on 20-23 it gave us the opportunity to host the 2012 Dusit International Conference themed ‘Managing Challenges’. It was a pleasure to be chosen as the event’s venue. Our hotel also received the ASEAN Green Hotel Standard award at a ceremony held in Indonesia. Last but not least, we were delighted to participate in a successful blood donation project in cooperation with the Thai Red Cross Society.

General Manager of Dusit Thani Pattaya Mr Chatchawal Supachayanont (5th from left) warmly welcomes Dusit International executives as they arrive for the 2012 'Managing Challenges' Conference held on 20–23 May 2012.

The three-day annual event was attended by representatives from Dusit International's hotels and resorts in Thailand and overseas. At the closing dinner, Dusit Thani Manila received the 'Best Hotel of the Year' award while the team from Dusit Thani Dubai won the 'Best Sales and Marketing Team of the Year' award.

Mr Chatchawal Supachayanont (middle, left), is joined by the hotel's Green Team members as they are congratulated by Dr Jiraphol Sinthunava, vice-president of the Green Leaf Foundation for having been awarded the ASEAN Green Hotel Standard 2012-2014 recognition along with nine other hotels in Thailand at this year's ASEAN Green Hotel Recognition Awards 2012 held in Manado, Indonesia. Other ASEAN hotels that received recognition for their environmental efforts included those from Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. In Thailand, the resorts and hotels were from Loei, Chiang Mai, Phuket, Koh Samui, Hua Hin, Bangkok and Pattaya.
